The Republic of Cote d’Ivoire is in the western part of Africa. Cote d’Ivoire means ‘Ivory coast’ in French. Ivories have been started to be produced in this country since the late 15th century. Abidjan, administrative capital of this nation, is connected to diverse regions in West Africa and the international airport and the nation’s largest port are also located in this city. A train line reaching Ouagadougou of Burkina Faso also starts in Abidjan. Cote d’Ivoire boasts UNESCO designated World Natural Heritages sites including Mount Nimba Strict Nature Reserve(1981), Taï National Park (1982) and Comoé National Park (1983). In particular, Comoé National Park is known as a vast wildlife protection national park in West Africa.
