Djibouti lies in northeast Africa on the Gulf of Aden at the southern entrance to the Red Sea. This country borders Bab el-Mandeb Strait, "Gate of Tears" in Arabic, which connects the Red Sea to the Indian Ocean. Thanks to its geographical advantage, Djibouti is an intermediate trade destination. With the mostly desert territory, people tended to raise livestock in the past. But currently, they are engaged in service jobs. About 2/3 of its population are living in the capital city of Djibouti, located in the Midwestern area of the country. Djibouti mainly consists of Afar people and Somalis. That is why most Djibouti people speak French and Arabic as their official languages along with Afar direct and Somalis. Djibout men enjoy wearing cotton robe which is similar to the Roman toga while women wearing brown long skirt. Though unmarried women do not turn a towel around their head, married women have towels or scarves turned around their head.
