Eritrea, a country situated in northern East Africa, was part of the first Ethiopian kingdom of Aksum. Most Eritrean people engage themselves in agriculture followed by mining, fishing as well as tourism. Their major popular staple foods are kicha (hard and long bread) and injera (household bread made of wheat, corn). The Eritrean people eat those staple foods served with zigny (a spicy mutton stew) or tsebhi (sauce made with chicken and fish). They usually eat mangos and papayas and drink the traditional liquor, Suwa or Mies made of honey. Most Eritrean people are amicable, giving warm hospitality by serving teas and coffee. Being invited to a meeting means getting a special honorable treatment. In Asmara, people are still living in stone or earth houses, though cement houses are newly being built recently. Cycling race is being held every Sunday and car racing every year. The Eritrean people enjoy soccer most.
