Madagascar is an island country that is located in the Indian Ocean. It is about 400km (250miles) away from the southeastern coast of Africa. This is the 4th biggest island. Since there are a lot of wild animals that are never found anywhere on earth, it is called the 7th continent. Especially, the lemur is a rare primate that can only be observed in this island. The staple food of Madagascar is rice. People usually eat rice with the Romazaba that is mixed with beef, pork, chicken, and vegetable. When people have a meal, the most popular beverage is Ranonapange that is made of burnt rice and hot water. Agriculture is given a great deal of weight on the economy. The main farm products are coffee and vanilla. This country produces vanilla over 60% of total vanilla all around world. It is the biggest vanilla producing country in the world. The Bourbon vanilla that is made in Madagascar is recognized as the best in the world.
