Morocco, located in North Africa, borders both the Mediterranean and the Atlantic. Most of its population is made up of Berbers and Arabians and members of the two tribes marry often. Though Arabian is the nation’s official language, French is also widely spoken. About 99% of its population is Islamic believers. Al-Masjid al-Haram and Hassan II Mosque, one of the largest mosques in the world, are located in the largest city of Casablanca. The construction of a world largest spire was ended with the death of Yacoub al-Mansour who started to construct it 1195. But Tour Hassan –the unfinished construction- still remains in Rabat. Moroccans are very good at handcrafts, especially at making leather products, carpets, jewels and ceramic wares. Along with western style clothes, they usually wear ‘djellaba’- traditional Moroccan dress. Since Djellaba is long and loose, both men and women enjoy wearing it.
