Togo, officially the Togolese Republic, is a long-shaped country in West Africa bordering Ghana in the west. Togo consists of 37 tribes with Ewe, Mina, Kabre most populous. Ewe people is also famous for the little statue depicting Ibeji (God). Paul Ahyi, the nation’s representative painter and sculptor, has introduced Togo’s as well as African art throughout the world. His art work was exhibited in nearby African countries as well as in South Korea and the US. He also designed the national flag of Togo. In Togo, people sprinkle water on a new-born baby to make him or her cry. And then they name the baby after bathing the new-born along with diverse festivals and gist exchanges.
