Barbados is a country located on Barbados Island, east of the Caribbean Sea. Most of the country’s territory is flat with the highest mountain, Mt. Hillaby, standing only 340 m (1,115 feet) tall. The island is surrounded by think layers of coral reefs. With an emerald ocean, white sandy beach and beautiful nature, Barbados is a lovely tourist spot visited by many people. The country ranked 43rd in the British Broadcasting Corporation’s (BBC) list of the ‘50 places to visit during life.’ Sugarcane is the major product of Barbados. The biggest and most famous festival in the country is the ‘Crop over Festival,’ which originated from celebrating the harvest of sugarcanes. The highlight of this festival is the contest of calypso dances and songs. As the national sports of Barbados, cricket is very popular in the country. Famous cricket players such as Sir Frank Worrell and Sir Garfield Sobers are respected by Barbadians. The picture of Sir Frank Worrell is even printed on the five dollar bill of Barbados. The final round of the 2007 Cricket World Cup was opened in Barbados.
