Belize is a Central American country close to the Caribbean Sea. The coral ocean in front of the shore of Belize is the second largest in the world, filled with many curious fish and coral reefs. UNESCO appointed this ocean as World Heritage in 1996. Every year, Belize is visited by many people who enjoy diving, snorkeling and seeing the coral reefs and tropical fish in the Caribbean Sea. Especially, the Blue Hole, which is a dark blue colony of coral reefs forming a perfect circle, is very famous around the world. Many divers dream of diving in the Blue Hole. Belize was the domain of the ancient Mayan Civilization. In some part of the country, there are still some minority races that use Mayan language today. Some significant remains of the ancient Mayan Civilization in Belize are ‘Xuantunich’ located on the country’s border with Guatemala, ‘Altun Ha’ and ‘Lubaantun.’ Belize is also famous for having excellent eco-tourist spots with rare and beautiful animals. Some famous spots include the Community Baboon Sanctuary, the Mantee Community Reserve and the Cockscomb Basin Wildlife Sanctuary.
