Haiti is an island country that shares the Hispaniola Island, the second largest island in the Caribbean Sea, with Dominican Republic. The territory of the country include one third of the west of Hispaniola Island and other surrounding islands. In Arawakan language, the name ‘Haiti’ means ‘the land of many mountains.’ As the name means, three forth of the country is covered with mountains. The major industry of Haiti is agriculture producing coffee, sugarcane, etc. Recently, however, the importance of tourism is increasing in the country. Located on the north of Haiti, Port Labadee is a famous tourists’ spot with the resort of Royal Caribbean International, one of the largest cruise companies in the world. Here, visitors can enjoy the Haitian flee market, as well as large beaches and a variety of water sports. For a long time, Haitians have shown outstanding talents in the field of fine arts, music, dance, etc. Especially, there are many renowned painters and sculptors who come from Haiti.
