The People´s Republic of China, or China, is the world’s most populous country. The number of its people of the Han race and 55 minor ethnic groups are 1,313,070,000 (CIA World fact book) as of July 2006, accounting for one fifth of the world population. The Chinese government has implemented a tough population policy, considering any possible negative impacts stemming from the huge population. The Chinese values food and is very proud of their country as the “Heaven of Cooking” and respects cooks. Chinese food recipes and ingredients are diverse and unique, but the daily foods are relatively simple. Chinese tea is also famous. The Chinese love teas and welcome guests with a cup of tea. Greasy Chinese food goes well with tea. There are many time-honored relics in China including the Beijing opera, the Great Wall of China and the palaces and remains left by each dynasty.
