The central Asian country, Mongolia, sits inland and consists of the desert and high lands. The Gobi Desert encompasses the wide green areas in which dinosaur fossils were discovered. Mongolia is a traditionally nomadic country. It is establishing urbanization like other cities in the world although many Mongolians still lead the nomadic lives. Ger (traditional house) is easy to construct and ideal for nomads. Horses are the only transportation method in the vast green areas. Koumiss is a traditional drink of nomadic cattle-breeders. Genghis Khan (1162~1227) is the most beloved and respected leader. Visitors can find many hotels or articles that are named after Genghis Khan. The Naadam Festival is the nation’s largest festival held for three days from July 11th, and there are three other events including Ssireum, horseback riding and archery.
