Official name of North Korea is the Democratic People´s Republic of Korea. It was 1948 when the current North Korean regime took its power. North Korea has a 5000 years of history, keeping diverse time-honored relics like Pyongyang, the capital of the Korea’s first kingdom Gojoseon (2333 B.C. ~ 108 B.C.) and Goguryeo (37 B.C. ~ A.D. 668). Gobungun in Pyongyang was designated as a UNESCO World Heritage site in 2004. The Baekdu Mountain and Geumgang Mountain are famous tourism destinations, boasting beautiful scenery. North Korea has developed animation production skills. The SEK Studio (from Scientific Educational Korea), one of the world’s largest film studios, is located in Pyongyang. It hires more than 1,600 staff members. North Korean staff members participated in producing of Lion King (US), Pocahontas (US), Billy the Cat (France), Heracles (Italy) and Pororo the Little Penguin (North and South Korea).
