Saudi means “Saude Family’s” or “Saude Royal Family’s.” It encompasses most of the Arabian Peninsula and is the birthplace of Islam, Arabians and Arabic. The place for women is restricted. Prophet Mohammed is said to have created Islam in Mecca, and he returned there for the final pilgrimage. Mecca and nearby areas are off-limits for non-believers. When Haji (annual festival of the pilgrimage) starts, many believers from all around the world come to Saudi Arabia. Half of its territory consists of the desert and the mountain areas, and there is no river. It has 24% of the world’s oil reserves. One of the most attractive traditional rituals is the national dance of Ardha, the men’s sword dance accompanied by folk songs.
