United Arab Emirates (UAE) is a federation of seven independent states (emirates). Each emirate is ruled by a ruler called Shaikh, the descendant of each emirate’s founder and the part of the royal family. Shaikh is also called the Amir or the prince. Among the seven emirates, each has its own unique features. Abu Dhabi, the capital, is the largest territory and has the most abundant amount of oil. The Dubai Emirate is famous to be called as Dubai, the hub city of the Middle East. The Sharjah Emirate invests largely in education, being called the “Education Emirate.” Traditionally, the Shaikh of Abu Dhabi is the president of UAE, and the Shaikh of Dubai becomes the vice president. Owing to its wealth of oil resources, UAE provides free houses, land, education services, farms and medical services to its people. Electricity is also provided at a very low price rate, and couples getting married can get financial subsidies. Like other Gulf countries, most of its people live under the influence of Islam, UAE people conform to the Islamic law and customs. The people of UAE wear traditional Arab dresses: men wear Dishdasha or Kandura, and women wear black Abaya.
