Czech is a Central European country which separated from the old Soviet Union in 1989 as Czechoslovakia, and again from Czechoslovakia in 1993 through diplomatic negotiations. The word ‘Bohemia,’ which stands for the west region of Czech including the country’s Capital Prague, is commonly used today as a term to described people, lifestyle and appearances which escape from social customs to enjoy maximum freedom. Czech is famous for art glass and beer. The art glass of the country is also called the ‘Bohemian Crystal,’ popular for various colors and shapes. Czech people enjoy beer very much. Actually, Czech is one of the countries that consume the most amount of beer in the world. All around Czech, there are breweries with great traditions. Pleznsky Prazdroj is the country’s largest beer brewer which exports its beer to many countries around the world. The language of Czech goes under the Slav languages. The Guinness Book records Czech as the language with the most difficult pronunciation. Some famous writers of Czech include Franz Kafka, renowned for leading existentialism, and Milan Kundera, who is a globally known writer and poet famous for his novel, ‘The Unbearable Lightness of Being.’
