Palau, a.k.a. Belau, is an island nation located in the west pacific region. It consists of about 300 small and bog islands including the largest one of Koror and Angaur. Many men spent much time in the sea because of their fishing job, while women took care of their children, family and community. That is why Palau has become a matrilineal society.
